Open Access Data Centres (OADC), a subsidiary of WIOCC Group, has acquired a portfolio of seven data centre facilities across South Africa from NTT DATA, a global technology and digital infrastructure group. The transaction has received approval from the Competition Commission of South Africa.
The seven facilities are strategically located across key centres in South Africa, forming an important platform within the country's digital infrastructure ecosystem. The assets support enterprise, wholesale, and cloud connectivity requirements and serve as critical infrastructure underpinning South Africa's growing digital economy.
The acquisition strengthens WIOCC Group's position as a multi-regional digital infrastructure provider, expanding its South African footprint and complementing its broader pan-African network and connectivity assets. The combined platform enhances the group's ability to serve hyperscalers, CDNs, network operators, ISPs, and enterprise clients with scalable, carrier-neutral data centre capacity across multiple markets.
Verdant Capital – IMAP South Africa acted as financial advisor to OADC on the transaction, which involved extensive coordination across financial, commercial, legal, and operational workstreams over a complex and prolonged negotiation process. This transaction marks Verdant Capital's fourth completed mandate for WIOCC Group.
