IMAP REDBAENK is pleased to announce that it advised the shareholders of ELIS DESIGN, a Czech designer and online D2C retailer of sustainable Montessori-inspired children’s toys and furniture, on the sale of a majority stake to Genesis Growth Equity Fund I.

ELIS DESIGN has built a strong position in the children’s products segment through its distinctive design, focus on natural materials, sustainability and products inspired by the Montessori philosophy. The company develops and sells toys, furniture and accessories that support the natural development, curiosity and physical activity of children, while maintaining a direct-to-consumer model and strong emphasis on customer experience.

Since its inception, ELIS DESIGN has successfully expanded beyond the Czech Republic into several European markets, including Slovakia and Hungary. The partnership with Genesis Growth will support the company’s next phase of development, particularly further geographical expansion, development of new product verticals, continued strengthening of logistics and further technological development of its e-commerce platform.

Genesis Growth Equity Fund I is a growth capital fund focused on investments into small and medium-sized companies with strong growth potential, primarily in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Through the transaction, Genesis Growth will work together with the founders and the management team of ELIS DESIGN to accelerate the company’s development and support its ambition to build a strong European brand in the children’s toys and furniture segment.

For ELIS DESIGN, the transaction marks an important milestone in its evolution from a founder-led entrepreneurial business into a scalable international e-commerce platform. Long-standing members of the management team, Jan Krivka and Martin Dorák, will continue to lead the company and execute the next phase of its growth strategy.
