IMAP advised the shareholders of R&K Group, a leading engineering services provider specializing in complex infrastructure projects in the fields of rail, power grid expansion, road construction, bridge and tunnel construction, and shipbuilding, on the acquisition by Swiss financial investor INVISION. The current management team has reinvested significantly.
R&K Group comprises R&K Ingenieure GmbH and its subsidiaries KED Infrastruktur Ingenieure GmbH, PSM Ingenieure GmbH, DEKO Engineering GmbH and Bosteed GmbH. The group employs over 100 people and offers services in the areas of project management, construction supervision, consulting and quality assurance. Its customers mainly include public clients such as TransnetBW, Autobahn GmbH, Deutsche Bahn, Amprion and Tennet.
In December 2023, BWK GmbH Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft, based in Stuttgart, acquired a stake in R&K Group as part of a succession plan. BWK provided impetus for the professionalization of structures and processes and closely accompanied the group’s successful growth.
"The addition of INVISION to our group of shareholders represents a significant step in our group's history. INVISION is highly committed to investing in the further development of the entire group. This creates further long-term perspectives for all of us: a stable environment, new projects, exciting areas of responsibility and opportunities for our employees to develop further,” says Michael Kock, co-founder of R&K Group.
INVISION has successfully operated as an investment company in German-speaking countries for over 25 years, supporting more than 60 medium-sized companies in realizing their growth plans, particularly in terms of internationalization, innovation and product development, digitalization of business processes and targeted acquisitions.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to the IMAP team, who advised us on the sale with great commitment, competence and a strong focus on results,” says Dr. Bernd Bergschneider, BWK management board spokesman, regarding the collaboration.
The IMAP team, consisting of Ralf Mittler, Philipp Noack, Mathias Bosse and Dorian Ellminger, advised the shareholders of R&K exclusively throughout all phases of a structured M&A process.
