Sophie Chatel is Chief Operating Officer of Ascent Capital Partners (IMAP Morocco) and brings over 13 years of experience in the financial industry.

She joined Ascent in 2023 to oversee operations and support the firm’s strategic growth across Africa, leveraging her deep expertise in client relationship management.

Prior to joining Ascent Capital Partners, Sophie held various positions within Crédit Agricole CIB in Paris, where she spent more than a decade. She began her career in 2010 as an Analyst in the Risk Management Department, contributing to the development of internal credit rating models and supporting the bank’s alignment with Basel regulatory standards. She later served as a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, managing credit exposure for financial institutions across France, Benelux and India.

Sophie subsequently joined the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) coverage team as a Relationship Manager. In this capacity, she developed and managed a portfolio of private and commercial banks across France, Switzerland, and Luxembourg. She was responsible for strategic client engagement, identifying new business opportunities, and coordinating transaction execution with internal stakeholders across business lines.

Sophie holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Université Paris Dauphine and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from McGill University in Montreal.
