IMAP advised the shareholders of Gräfliches Hofbrauhaus Freising GmbH, the world's oldest private brewery with a history dating back to 1160, on its acquisition by a consortium of entrepreneurs led by Argon Management.
The takeover marks the beginning of a new chapter that focuses on combining tradition, craft brewing, and modern brand management.
The Gräfliches Hofbrauhaus Freising brews beers at its historic location in Freising based on pure craftsmanship, regional raw materials, and slow brewing principles—for a timelessly good taste.
"The Gräfliches Hofbrauhaus Freising has been part of our family for a long time. Now the time has come to place it in the hands of people who respect this heritage and, at the same time, have the vision to lead it into a new future. I am convinced that the values that define this brewery – quality, consistency, and passion – will continue to be preserved in the future," says Count Ignaz zu Toerring-Jettenbach (partner).
The new owners plan to develop the Gräfliches Hofbrauhaus Freising into a modern brewery with a unique history—with a clear commitment to the highest quality ingredients, purity, and production processes.
Argon Management AG is an independent, owner-managed investment company based in Pfäffikon (SZ), Switzerland. Founded by Dr. Till Spillmann, Fredi Fischer, and Sacha Schroff, Argon Management combines many years of experience in the areas of private equity and strategic corporate development.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to the IMAP team, who provided us with outstanding support on our journey into this new phase of the company's development through efficient process design and an international approach, and who advised us with great commitment and expertise in all relevant aspects of the transaction process,” say Felix Jenninger (Managing Director of the Toerring-Jettenbach Group) and Christoph Michl (Chairman of the Advisory Board of the brewery).
The IMAP team, consisting of Florian Böschen, Alessandro Cornelli, and Pascal Schreiner, advised the shareholders of Gräfliches Hofbrauhaus Freising exclusively throughout all phases of a structured M&A process until its successful completion.
