Abound Health Group, a multi-state provider of home-based and community living services backed by Housatonic Partners, has acquired Pro Care Unlimited, one of Michigan's largest providers of non-skilled home-based care services. The transaction closed in December 2025, with Pro Care Unlimited joining the Abound Health family effective January 1, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded over 20 years ago and headquartered in Michigan, Pro Care Unlimited delivers Medicaid-funded services through two core offerings: community living services, primarily supporting individuals with behavioural health needs, and personal care services focused on assisting seniors with activities of daily living. The company has built a strong reputation in Michigan as a champion of the family caregiver model, in which clients select a family member or friend to be trained and employed as their caregiver — a model that drives high retention and continuity of care. Pro Care will continue to operate under its existing name, led by its founding management team.

Abound Health Group serves over 6,000 individuals and employs more than 7,500 team members across North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and now Michigan. The acquisition supports Abound's expansion into the Michigan market and will be underpinned by its proprietary OnTarget electronic health records platform, which enables data-driven, person-centred care delivery.
