Poste Italiane S.p.A. has approved the acquisition of a 49% minority stake in PagoPA S.p.A. from the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance.

PagoPA is the company responsible for developing and operating key national digital infrastructure platforms in Italy, including pagoPA, the official system for secure and standardised payments to public administrations, IO, the public services app used by citizens to access government services, and SEND, the digital platform for legally valid communications between public bodies and citizens.

The transaction represents a significant step in the digitalisation of Italy's public administration ecosystem, combining PagoPA's role as a national platform operator with Poste Italiane's extensive distribution network and digital services capabilities.
