Intesa Sanpaolo, Italy's largest banking group, and BPER Banca have signed a strategic partnership with Homepal S.r.l. to create a new integrated real estate company combining traditional agency services with a next-generation digital platform. The transaction was signed in October 2023.

The transaction involves Intesa Sanpaolo contributing its 100% shareholding in Intesa Sanpaolo Casa — a real estate brokerage and advisory network operating through agencies in major Italian cities — which will subsequently merge into Homepal. Following the transaction, Intesa Sanpaolo holds a 49% stake in the combined entity, BPER Banca holds 17%, and Homepal's existing shareholders retain 34%. Intesa Sanpaolo and BPER will make a combined initial investment of €15 million to upgrade services and communications. The company will be led by Andrea Lacalamita, Homepal's chairman.

Homepal is a next-generation online real estate agency that supports customers across all stages of a property transaction through a digital platform and remotely operating real estate agents. The partnership combines Homepal's technology-driven model with Intesa Sanpaolo Casa's established agency network, creating a platform capable of serving customers across Italy through proprietary agencies, traditional services, and a strong technology component.
