Since the beginning of the month, Nicolas Bächstädt has joined the partner group of IMAP M&A Consultants AG and will be responsible for the Distressed M&A services.
Nicolas Bächstädt has over 25 years’ experience in M&A. He has advised on around 100 transactions and capital restructurings, specializing in special situations and periods of transformation. He is moving from Stifel to IMAP, where he was most recently Managing Director and Head of Recovery DACH, responsible for the restructuring business in the DACH region. In this role, he led numerous transactions, including advising the insolvency administrators in the insolvency of the international tourism group FTI Touristik and the renewable energy group Green City.
Prior to its sale to Stifel, Nicolas Bächstädt had been Managing Partner at ACXIT Capital Partners since 2014. Before that, he held a management position at the distressed M&A boutique perspektiv and also worked for Droege International and Ernst & Young (formerly Andersen). After training as a banker, the CFA charterholder studied economics at the University of St. Gallen (HSG).
