Van Assendelft – Hollander Bogaert (“VAHB”), founded in 1959, is a leading European player in the camping and outdoor living market. Headquartered in Gilze, the Netherlands, VAHB designs and distributes a complementary portfolio of strong proprietary brands, including Bo-Camp (trendy camping gear and compact furniture), Crespo (premium camping furniture) and Gimex (outdoor tableware, glassware and cookware).
Under the ownership of KeBeK Private Equity since 2019, and under the leadership of CEO Richard Schutte, VAHB successfully repositioned itself towards a scalable house-of-brands model. This transformation was further accelerated through the acquisitions of Crespo in 2020 and Gimex in 2022, strengthening VAHB’s product offering and European footprint.
The partnership with Synergia Capital Partners marks the next phase in VAHB’s growth strategy. Together with management, Synergia will support the continued international expansion of the brands, the further development of digital and direct-to-consumer channels, and a selective buy-and-build strategy to strengthen VAHB’s platform position in the European outdoor and camping market.
The IMAP Netherlands team, led by Jan Pieter Borst, together with Frank Ruijgrok, Willem Jansen and Martijn Ellens, is proud to have advised KeBeK Private Equity throughout the transaction process, from preparation and positioning to negotiation and successful closing.
