Usalco, LLC, a leading provider of advanced water treatment chemistries and performance solutions, has acquired Shannon Chemical Corporation, a specialist producer of phosphate-based corrosion control chemicals for municipal drinking water systems. The transaction closed in April 2026 and financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded over 40 years ago, Shannon Chemical has built a trusted reputation serving municipal and investor-owned utilities nationwide with phosphate-based corrosion inhibitors, including blended polyphosphate and orthophosphate formulations, designed to reduce lead and copper exposure in drinking water. The company is recognised for its technical expertise, delivery capabilities, and customer-specific treatment solutions, and has served some of the largest utilities and rural water systems in the United States.

The acquisition strengthens Usalco's corrosion control offering by combining Shannon's specialised product portfolio and technical expertise with Usalco's national manufacturing and distribution network, Corrosion Sentry™ platform, and Decision Blue® software suite. Together, the combined business is well positioned to support utilities in meeting the requirements of the Enhanced Lead and Copper Rule through improved corrosion control programme design, monitoring, and documentation. Usalco operates 42 manufacturing and logistics facilities serving the clean water needs of more than 130 million US residents and businesses.
