Lippert Components, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of LCI Industries (NYSE: LCII) and a global supplier of engineered components for the recreation and transportation markets, has acquired Freedman Seating Company, a leading Chicago-based manufacturer of transportation seating solutions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1894 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Freedman Seating has built a 130-year legacy as a trusted manufacturer of high-quality seating solutions for the transportation industry, serving commercial end markets including buses, shuttles, rail, marine, and heavy duty vehicles. The company serves major OEM customers, over 250 bus distributors, the federal government, and numerous state agencies, employing nearly 800 associates. Freedman also operates an in-house accredited compliance laboratory offering product testing and certification. The business is currently led by the fourth generation of the founding family, CEO Craig Freedman and President Dan Cohen, both of whom will continue with the business following the acquisition.

The acquisition combines Freedman's market-leading seating expertise and brand reputation with Lippert's global manufacturing resources and distribution capabilities, creating a platform for continued growth across the transportation seating sector.
