IMAP advised the synava Group — an alliance of leading companies providing IT solutions for the healthcare sector, and a BU Funds portfolio company — on the acquisition of IT-Choice. IT-Choice, an established provider of oncology documentation, will now become part of the synava Group. This merger is a valuable addition to the synava Group under the BU umbrella. The synava Group comprises medavis, Digithurst, epiNET, InformMe, MedDream, POTTHOFF + PARTNER and IT-Choice.

IT-Choice is a medium-sized company with extensive experience in tumour documentation. With its ONKOSTAR product, IT-Choice offers a user-friendly documentation system. The company has also been developing software systems for clinical state cancer registries in Germany for many years, enabling reliable report processing and tumour data evaluation.

Radiology is already a key focus of the synava Group. The oncology sector is now being added as a closely related field with numerous interfaces with radiology.

The funds managed by BU typically invest between €50 million and €500 million in equity when acquiring a majority or minority stake in medium-sized companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy across a range of industries.
