Semilab Zrt., a Hungarian technology company with a dominant global market share in semiconductor measurement technology, has acquired 100% of Bristol Nano Dynamics Ltd. (BND), a UK-based manufacturer of advanced scanning probe microscope systems. The transaction closed in November 2025.

Founded as a spin-out of the University of Bristol, BND develops and manufactures innovative measurement systems based on Dynamic SPM technology, which operates on fundamentally different physical principles than traditional SPM and AFM systems. With over 40 years of combined experience in scanning probe microscopy, BND offers versatile, high-speed instruments capable of addressing measurement challenges across scales — from individual research laboratory samples to manufacturing quality assurance — serving customers across the semiconductor, life sciences, and high-tech materials sectors.

The acquisition complements Semilab's existing metrology portfolio, extending its capabilities in high-speed optical measurements and nanoscale surface characterisation, and strengthening its offering to customers in the semiconductor industry and adjacent high-technology markets.
