Together with the management team led by Günther Hastaedt and Johann Hermann, the investors will further expand HemaTec's leading role in the hydraulic steelwork market in the future.
IMAP advised Hermann GmbH Maschinenbautechnologie (HemaTec), Germany's leading manufacturer of hydraulic steelwork structures, on its acquisition by Vorsprung Partnerschaft (VORSPRUNG). Together with the management team led by Günther Hastaedt and Johann Hermann, the investors will further expand HemaTec's leading role in the hydraulic steelwork market in the future.
Founded in 1997 and located in Weiden/Bavaria, Germany, HemaTec manufactures and installs large-scale water locks and hydraulic steelwork structures as well as large component metalworking solutions. With a comprehensive and unique set of metalworking equipment for large parts machining in Weiden and Brake and with its small parts manufacturing site in Erpetshof, HemaTec also operates in the area of contract metalworking services. As a market leader in the high-growth hydraulic steelworks market, HemaTec has completed various prestigious lighthouse projects, including some of Germany’s technically most demanding water lock constructions – all of them mission critical for the German waterway infrastructure.
As the carbon footprint of freights transported by inland waterways is significantly lower compared to trucks and air cargo, inland waterways will play a crucial part in decarbonizing the German transportation sector. In addition, the rise in sea levels caused by climate change makes it inevitable to strengthen coastal hydraulic steel flood protection works.
VORSPRUNG is a Hamburg-based private equity investor that invests funds from German and European entrepreneurial families in leading medium-sized companies based in the DACH region in order to further develop and grow them in the long term together with management.
