Johnson Metall is the largest bronze foundry in the Nordics and makes plain bearings and machine parts in bronze to customer specifications. Because it does its own manufacturing, the company controls a large part of the value chain, from alloy composition and metal melting to the machining and quality control of finished components. Its customers include companies in infrastructure, mining, marine and forestry.

Johnson Metall was founded in 1940 by Åke Johnson in Örebro, Sweden, and has since grown into a company with a strong international presence. Their manufacturing and headquarters remain in Örebro, and the company also has sales offices in Norway and Denmark. Today, Johnson Metall has revenues of approximately SEK 450 million and around 120 employees. After several years of strong profitability and changes in the ownership structure, the owners decided to seek a long-term owner that can support the company's continued expansion.

The buyer is the Swedish industrial group Grönskär Gruppen. The acquisition strengthens Grönskär's position as a Swedish industrial group, and it gives Johnson Metall a strong foundation to keep developing its business.
