Capstone Partners advised APEX Anesthesia Review on its sale to TrueLearn.
TrueLearn, a leading healthcare digital learning and analytics platform, has expanded its footprint and platform capabilities through the acquisition of APEX Anesthesia Review (APEX). The addition of APEX expands TrueLearn’s presence in nursing, a market TrueLearn entered through the acquisition of Picmonic in 2021.
APEX is a leading provider of high-stakes exam preparation and learning support for Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists (SRNAs) and of continuing education for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). The APEX platform enables learners to achieve their performance goals in less time by creating memorable learning experiences that foster mastery of important concepts relevant to clinical practice.
This acquisition is a key part of TrueLearn’s strategy to bring best-in-class learning tools to new segments of healthcare education. TrueLearn’s advanced analytics will deliver increased value for both SRNAs and their institutions, which rely on APEX throughout the licensure process. In addition, APEX’s continuing education offerings are supportive of TrueLearn’s mission to better equip providers with the most relevant and up-to-date learning materials throughout their careers in clinical practice.
“Over the past several years, APEX has cemented itself as a premier test preparation and continuing education provider for the anesthesia nursing community,” said TrueLearn’s Founder and CEO, Dr. Joshua Courtney. “We see tremendous opportunity to support APEX’s continued growth in nurse anesthesia and in other areas of advanced practice nursing.”
“By joining forces with TrueLearn, we will be able to bring additional capabilities to our learners and their institutions,” said APEX’s Co-Founder and CEO, Kevin Baker, CRNA. “TrueLearn’s expertise in analytics and proven track record of success was important for us as we look toward the next chapter for APEX. Both organizations are mission driven and built around the service and unwavering advocacy of our students and their institutions, supporting a strong partnership.”
