IMAP advises RAAB Lüftungstechnik GmbH on the acquisition by Felderer GmbH, a subsidiary of Swedish group Lindab

With the acquisition, Lindab expands its current operations in Germany and strengthens both sales and production of rectangular ventilation ducts.

RAAB Lüftungstechnik GmbH ("RAAB Lüftungstechnik"), a leading manufacturer in ventilation technology, has been acquired by Felderer GmbH ("Felderer"), a subsidiary of the listed Swedish group Lindab International AB ("Lindab"). With the acquisition, Lindab expands its current operations in Germany and strengthens both sales and production of rectangular ventilation ducts.

RAAB Lüftungstechnik is based in Großmehring, north of Munich. The company has shown extensive growth over the past decade establishing itself as a leading manufacturer of rectangular ventilation ducts and accessories made of galvanized steel sheet, black and aluminum sheet, as well as stainless steel since 2010. The production is characterized by high efficiency and quality. The company achieved revenues of more than EUR 15 million in 2022.

Lindab, which is represented in 24 countries, primarily develops, manufactures, and sells products and system solutions for simplified construction and for an improved indoor climate. With its approximately 4800 employees, the company achieved a revenue of EUR 1.1 billion (SEK 12,366 million) in 2022. In the fiscal year 2022, Lindab acquired German-based Felderer, a manufacturer and wholesaler of ventilation components, which holds a strong position in the German ventilation market with seven locations throughout Germany (also a transaction advised by IMAP).

"We are very pleased to welcome RAAB Lüftungstechnik into Lindab," says Ola Ringdahl, President and CEO of Lindab. "They have had an impressive development under Daniel Raab's leadership, and I am delighted that he will continue to lead the business as part of Lindab. RAAB Lüftungstechnik is at the forefront of automated manufacturing of rectangular ventilation ducts and has great potential for expansion. With this acquisition, we are taking another important step in our ambitious growth plan for Germany."

"We look forward to being part of Lindab and taking the business to a new level, where we will be able to benefit from an expanded distribution network while contributing with our knowledge. We share Lindab's belief that investment in automation, high quality and close relationships with customers are key success factors," said Daniel Raab, Managing Director of RAAB Lüftungstechnik.

The IMAP team consisting of Andreas Widholz, Solveig Sager and Kevin Xu exclusively advised Daniel Raab during the M&A process and supported him in negotiating and successfully closing the transaction.

For IMAP in Germany, this is the third transaction in the HVAC sector in the last 18 months.
