With the announcement of its new M&A partner, DealHaus, in Denmark, IMAP furthers cements its already strong foothold in Scandinavia. This is the latest in a string of strategic appointments in response to client and market demand as IMAP continues to expand its global team.
DealHaus is headquartered in Aarhus and Copenhagen in Denmark. Established in 2013, the industry-agnostic team focuses on mid-size deals and draws on some 40 years of accumulated M&A experience, having closed more than 30 transactions in the last five years. The team advises companies across the country, primarily on sell-side transactions. Its core offering is processed advisory services, alongside sales preparations, due diligence preparations, and the coordination of vendor due diligence and similar pre-market vendor reviews of the targets represented.
The M&A landscape in Denmark is showing solid momentum. Overall dealmaking activity in 2023 has remained stable and above pre-COVID levels and while there has been a decrease in domestic transactions, European buyers in particular are showing a growing interest in Danish companies, leading to an increase in inbound transactions, which once again have surpassed domestic transactions. All of which is good news for sellers and buyers alike.
IMAP Chairman, Jurgis V. Oniunas, commented
“We are very happy to welcome DealHaus to the IMAP family. We have been looking for some time for the right partner in Denmark and they really are the ideal fit. Not only are they a highly experienced, trusted proven M&A financial advisor in their market, with access to key strategic players, they align perfectly in terms of their core values and focus on client relationships. We see a great deal of potential in this market and this appointment is great news not only for our clients who have shown an increasing demand for a broader profile of opportunities in Scandinavia, but also for Danish clients – with nearly half of Danish business sales to foreign buyers, they will now have access to our teams of IMAP experts in 47 countries, across 15 sectors, bringing a wealth of new business opportunity right to their doorstep.”
Managing Partner of DealHaus, Mick Ohira, added
We are very excited to join the IMAP family and the global partnership of experienced experts that count on more than 450 professionals worldwide. As DealHaus moves towards our 11th anniversary as a trusted advisor to mid-market and small businesses, joining IMAP aligns strongly with our ambition pf being the preferred partner and advisor – to entrepreneurs, active investors, and family offices or large corporates. There is a strong demand for cross-border deals with Danish companies, and a year-long trend of increased interest from abroad in acquiring Danish businesses. With the collaboration and support of the many industry specialists and dealmakers in IMAP, we will further strengthen our offering and deal opportunities in our market. The teams in Copenhagen and Aarhus are excited about our joining IMAP, and we are certain that the combined knowledge, personal relationships, and deal experience of our new colleagues will be a great value-add for our current and new clients.”
