During these years, the company has had a strong focus on growth and has actively been targeting the major supermarket chains, where the company today is a major and important supplier. The company is located in the fish harbour in Gothenburg and has around 60 employees.
The buyer, Chinese Huitai Investment Group Co., Ltd. is a Chinese listed company active across various industries, including aquaculture, crude salt production, marine logistics, real estate and others. Huitai has over 3,000 employees and an annual turnover exceeding EUR 200 million. The acquisition of Bröderna Hanssons is Huitai's first investment outside China.
With the acquisition of Bröderna Hanssons, Huitai gained market access to Europe for its seafood business. Furthermore, Huitai plans to leverage Bröderna Hanssons's suppliers network and introduce its products in the Chinese market.
Håkan Wing, CEO of Bröderna Hanssons said
"This is something very positive for Bröderna Hanssons and the fish harbour. Huitai wants to scale up our business and, among other things, export to China. They want to secure the raw material to China, and it is very much about finding the right supplier for the right goods. This will also mean that we will employ more staff going forward."
Andreas Anderberg, Partner at IMAP Sweden commented
-"Bröderna Hanssons is one of the oldest and most well-known companies in their industry in Sweden. We are very pleased that we have been able to secure a new long-term owner for the company that will guarantee that the company can continue to be successful in the Swedish market. We also believe that Huitai can open up new sales channels and growth opportunities also on the international market."
