Polysmart Packaging Group, a leading Nigerian recycled plastic manufacturer, has raised a USD 5 million strategic equity investment from an African-focused private equity investor. The capital will be deployed to optimise operations, enhance production efficiency, and support Polysmart's expansion into one of Nigeria's most advanced rPET processing platforms.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Ogun State, Nigeria, Polysmart operates an integrated recycling and manufacturing platform spanning waste collection partnerships, sorting and aggregation, and the production of high-quality recycled plastic resins and flakes, including food-grade rPET pellets for domestic and export markets. The company's state-of-the-art production facility is supported by advanced European processing technology and adheres to international quality and environmental standards. Polysmart counts leading global beverage, bottling, and manufacturing companies among its customer base.
The investment positions Polysmart to capitalise on strong structural demand for traceable, high-quality rPET supply, driven by tightening environmental regulation, mandatory recycled content targets in developed markets, and growing corporate sustainability commitments from multinational brands. The global rPET market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of approximately 8.9% through 2032.
Verdant Capital – IMAP South Africa acted as exclusive financial advisor to Polysmart on the transaction.
