Karri Vuori leads the M&A team at Panmure Gordon and has extensive experience in dealmaking across the mid-market in both the public and private arena. Karri started his career at KPMG working in their Private Equity Group followed by M&A specialist Hawkpoint Partners and later he helped develop the M&A business at Charles Stanley Securities.
Karri has advised, among others, on the $500m cross-border sale of Proximagen to Upsher-Smith, the £84m sale of System C Healthcare to McKesson Corporation, the £195m take private of Nord Anglia Education by Baring Private Equity Asia as well as the sale of Cymbio to Capita Group. He also has significant ECM experience having advised on a number of IPOs and secondary fundraisings on both the Main Market and AIM.
Karri has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Hons) and an M.A. in Politics, both from the University of Durham.
Michael Simson is a Partner and senior transaction advisor with Assay Corporate Finance (IMAP London). Prior to joining the firm, Mike served as Finance Director of Princedale Group plc, which was listed on the LSE. While at Princedale he was involved in some 30 acquisitions, disposals and fundraisings. In 2000 the core business was sold to the Marmon Group of Chicago. Before that, he was in the Mergers & Acquisitions unit of Deloitte Haskins & Sells, which then merged with Price Waterhouse to become PWC.
Sector Expertise: Mike´s particular area of expertise is advising on transactions in the human capital sector with a special emphasis on recruitment and staffing businesses. Specifically - Human Capital Management - which covers advising companies providing Recruitment/Staffing services, Human Resource advice, all aspects of Business Consultancy, Training/Leadership Development and Professional Services (Accounting and Law firms).
Mike holds a B.Com (Hons) Accounting from Rhodes University in South Africa. Mike is also a South African-trained Chartered Accountant CA (SA).
