Scott is the Founder and Managing Partner of Amherst Partners (IMAP Detroit, USA) and has more than 25 years of experience structuring and negotiating transactions and advising companies on financial matters. Before establishing the firm he was a Principal in a subordinated debt fund that invested primarily in manufacturing and technology businesses. After starting out his career as an accountant with Deloitte & Touche he went on to be a Manager in the National Corporate Finance Group of the company, where he provided M&A advisory services to middle market companies.
Scott's experience includes merger and acquisition transactions, restructuring and turnaround engagements, valuations, and a wide variety of management advisory services. Scott's sector expertise is mainly in Manufacturing, Financial Services and Technology.
Scott has an MBA in Finance from Indiana University, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois, and is CPA qualified. Scott is a past recipient of Crain's Detroit Business list of "40 under 40” and a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2007 and 2008.
John Ferrara is Founder and President of Capstone Partners (IMAP Boston). In 2002, he purchased the practice and rebranded it to form Capstone Partners. John has dedicated his 25 year career to serving as a trusted advisor to privately held businesses. Representative of over 200 engagements, he has acted as investment banker, management consultant, interim executive, investor and board member. Under his leadership, Capstone Partners has expanded to 10 offices in the US and UK and been recognized as Global Investment Banking Boutique Firm of the Year. John started his career as an investment banker with Lehman Brothers in New York, London and Riyadh. Later, he served as a founding member of Rodman & Renshaw’s M&A practice in New York. After a break to play baseball in Australia, John joined Deloitte’s management consulting group in Los Angeles. He then moved to Arthur Andersen in 1996 to start a corporate finance practice in Boston. John became a Partner and Regional Managing Director with Andersen and held various national and global leadership positions.

Steve founded Dresner Partners (IMAP Chicago) in 1991 to provide Wall Street investment banking services to middle market businesses. Prior to founding Dresner Partners, he held management positions with First Chicago Corporation (JP Morgan Chase), Arthur Andersen (corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions practices), Heller Financial and GE Capital Corporation.
Steve´s distinguished corporate finance career spans nearly 30 years, including mergers, acquisitions, debt and equity financing, restructuring and turnarounds, recapitalizations and international transactions. In addition to his transactional experience, Steve has led numerous valuation, fairness opinion and strategic financial consulting engagements. Steve´s sector expertise in the: Healthcare, Business Services, Building Products, Textiles, Industrial Manufacturing, Retail, and Media.
Steve holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a B.S. Economics, with Honors, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
